EXTENDED FILM BIOGRAPHY

BREAKING IN
Growing up, Gloria was never interested in the entertainment industry but instead had her sights on climbing the corporate ladder and attended Augusta State University after high school as a marketing major. At the age of 19, Gloria’s father noticed that a local car dealership no longer had a television commercial spokesmodel and encouraged Gloria to look into it. After a few months, she called the owner of the dealership, inquired about the position, was put through a couple auditions with several other girls and booked the job. So it was, totally oblivious to the world of entertainment, Gloria made her first debut on a set in 2003 as the spokesmodel for a car dealership in a local commercial.

She continued pursuing an acting career while supporting herself with various administrative positions. She also continued her schooling at Augusta State University, but with her pursuit of acting and life-long love for technology, she returned as a Communications major with an emphasis on TV & Cinema.

Gloria experienced some nationally televised successes along with gaining her SAG eligibility. Although she did dabble in a few crew positions during this time, her primary focus remained as talent. It wasn’t until a well-orchestrated chain of events began to occur in 2010 that she ventured more seriously into filmmaking.

JUMPING SHIP
In late 2010, she founded a small group at her church appropriately named The Film Group. A group that was initially intended to be a support group for professionals in the industry – especially actors – quickly transformed into a not-for-profit production team. Thrust into the role of producer (and occasionally as director and editor), Gloria led The Film Group in successfully completing several productions including promo, commercial and music videos.

At the end of 2011, Gloria’s work with The Film Group garnered the attention of an independent producer who offered her the position of 1st Assistant Director (AD) on the feature film, “Stand Your Ground” starring Cameron Arnett, later produced by Triple Horse Studios.  After production successfully wrapped, Gloria continued working on the film as the Associate Producer. The movie was released into select theaters nationwide in January 2014.

From script breakdowns and production logistics to assembling the right team and shaping the creative vision of the film, the entire experience awakened a previously overlooked talent and ignited a heightened passion for the work “behind-the-scenes.” Gloria realized that her desire to be an intricate part of the entire production process trumped her desire to act and in the fall of 2012, after a 9-year run as an actor, she made the decision to bring her acting career to an end.

A NEW CHAPTER
After making the official transition to the production-side of production, she hit the ground running. Gloria has always said that “in order to lead effectively, you must understand what you are leading on every level” and she did just that. She gained valuable experience working in different positions of several major productions ranging from TV series like AMC’s “The Walking Dead” to game shows like Steve Harvey’s “Family Feud” and commercial clients like Chick-Fil-A.

In September 2013, she founded the production company, En’val Entertainment, dedicated to producing thought-provoking films for mainstream audiences.  Since then she has produced films both through En’val and independently including “Blackbear” starring Eric Roberts and most recently, “Tulsa” starring John Schneider which was released theatrically in 2020.  “Tulsa” also served as Gloria’s directorial debut.

En’val Entertainment is currently in pre-production on their first animated film, “Misfits” and in-development for it’s film, “Unforgivable”, based on real events and the career-inspiring feature film, “Streiker”, based on Robin Hardy’s best-selling novel, “Streiker’s Bride.”
